Cucal de Burchell (Centropus burchellii), 37–42 cm. Dorso castaño, alas rojizas, cabeza, cuello y vientre negros con brillo verde metálico. Ojos rojos, pico robusto y curvado, cola larga. Habita en arbustos, pastizales y jardines de Sudáfrica. Se alimenta de insectos, pequeños vertebrados y bayas.
