El pato bahameño o pato colilargo es un esbelto pato con cola larga y puntiaguda y un pico de color azul grisáceo con base roja. Distribuido por el Caribe, América del Sur y las Islas Galápagos, habita en lagunas costeras salobres, marismas y estanques de agua dulce. Ambos sexos tienen plumaje similar: marrón moteado con cara blanca y garganta blanca.
