El abejero europeo (unos 800 g) es un rapaz especializado en saquear nidos de avispas y abejorros, aunque también come otros invertebrados, ranas y pequeñas aves. Su cara con escamas pequeñas —en lugar de plumas— le protege de las picaduras. Migra desde Europa a Africa subsahariana.
