Sociable Lapwing: 27–30 cm, pale sandy lapwing with a black-and-white head pattern, chestnut belly, and black cap. Breeds on steppe of Kazakhstan and southern Russia; winters in Sudan, Eritrea, and NW India. Critically Endangered due to habitat loss on breeding grounds and hunting on migration. Long-distance migrant. CR.
