Acerca de
El andarríos grande (unos 80 g) es un playero forestal que, excepcionalmente dentro de los andarríos, nidifica en los viejos nidos de tordos y palomas en los árboles, lejos del agua. Tiene el dorso verde oliváceo oscuro con manchas blancas, el obispillo blanco brillante y las partes inferiores blancas. En invierno migra a África subsahariana. Cuando se alza, emite un silbido agudo ascendente y vuela con un movimiento de alas caracterísitico: cortos batidos seguidos de planeos breves.
