Acerca de
El verdecillo (unos 12 g) es el menor de los fringílidos europeos con el pico corto y cónico. El macho tiene el obispillo y las partes inferiores de intenso color amarillo; la hembra está rayada con algo de amarillo. Su canto es un trino metálico y agitado muy característico. Habita jardines, huertos, parques y zonas urbanas del sur de Europa hasta el norte de África y Asia menor. Es el antecesor del canario doméstico. Las poblaciones del norte de Europa son migratorias.
