La golondrina negra y rufa es una golondrina llamativa del miombo y zonas abiertas del África oriental y central. Tiene plumaje negro en las partes superiores y rufo anaranjado en las inferiores. Mide unos 15-16 cm. Habita en bosques de miombo abiertos, sabanas arboladas y campos agrícolas de Zambia, Tanzania y países vecinos. Se alimenta de insectos atrapados en vuelo. Poco frecuente en comparación con otras golondrinas africanas. Especie residente en su rango de distribución.
