El cucúl de halcón malayo (Hierococcyx fugax) mide 28-32 cm. Tiene el dorso pardo-gris, una banda pectoral rojiza y las partes inferiores blanquecinas con barras. Parásito de nido. Habita en bosques de Malasia, Sumatra, Borneo, Filipinas y sur de China. Su llamada es un silbido melódico repetitivo. Especie con distribución en el sureste asiático. Más conocido que otras especies del género pero todavía relativamente poco estudiado.
