El cuclillo pálido (Heteroscenes pallidus) mide 28-33 cm. Gris pálido en las partes superiores y blanquecino en las inferiores con manchas oscuras tenues. Es parásito de nido, poniendo sus huevos en nidos de cuervos, abejarucos y otras aves. Habita en bosques abiertos, sabanas y zonas áridas de Australia. Se alimenta de orugas peludas, especialmente orugas de plaga. Especie con distribución amplia en el continente australiano.
