El colibrí brillante de garganta rosada es un colibrí poco conocido de las estribaciones andinas de Ecuador y Perú. El macho tiene partes superiores verdes brillantes y un gorjal rosado iridiscente. Se alimenta del néctar de flores en el bosque nublado andino. La información sobre su comportamiento y ecología es escasa. La pérdida de hábitat en los bosques de las estribaciones andinas supone una amenaza para esta especie de distribución restringida.

Found on the eastern Andean slope of Colombia and Ecuador in cloud forest. 800–1,800 m elevation.
Diet & Feeding
Nectarivore of Colombian and Venezuelan cloud forest; forages at diverse Ericaceae and epiphyte blooms. Gleans arthropods.
