Acerca de

El corbatero es una cotinga de tamaño mediano de América del Sur tropical. El macho tiene plumaje principalmente negro azulado con manchas de plumas plateadas en el cuello que forman una peculiar 'corbata'. La hembra es parda. Mide unos 33 cm. Habita en bosques de várzea y selvas tropicales a lo largo de los grandes ríos amazónicos. Se alimenta principalmente de frutos. Vive en grupos en el dosel forestal.
