Acerca de
La focha común (unos 800 g) es inconfundible por su plumaje negro azabache y el escudo frontal blanco. Muy común en lagos, estanques y ríos lentos de toda Europa, Asia y Australasia. Muy territorial y agresiva con sus congéneres, especialmente durante la cría. Se alimenta de plantas acuáticas, buceando o pastando en tierra. A diferencia de los patos, tiene dedos lobulados en lugar de palmeados. Los polluelos son crías precociales con la cabeza roja llamativa.
