Paloma del hielo pálida (Chionis albus), 34–41 cm. Plumaje enteramente blanco; pico robusto con cera naranja-amarillenta; patas negruzcas. Habita en costas de la Antártida y las islas Malvinas. Se alimenta de carroña, huevos de pingüinos y restos de alimento. Especie emblemática del Antártico.
