Acerca de
Picoespina de Stanley (Chalcostigma stanleyi), 11–13 cm. Macho con garganta verde-azulada brillante; partes superiores verde oscuro; cola bifurcada. Habita en páramos y bordes de bosque alto-andino de Ecuador y Perú. Se alimenta de néctar. Adaptado a las condiciones frías de la puna.

Nectarivore of Andean treeline scrub; visits Ericaceae and Brachyotum blooms. Supplements with small arthropods.
