How to Tell Them Apart
Felsentaube
Wild-type has a blue-grey body with iridescent green and purple neck feathers, two black wing bars, and a white rump. Feral populations show enormous color variation.

Die Felsentaube ist die Stammform aller Haustaubenrassen und einer der häufigsten Vögel in Städten weltweit. Tauben dienten dem Menschen als Boten, Nahrungsquelle und Forschungsobjekt – ihre Orientierungsfähigkeit und ihr Sehvermögen wurden ausgiebig erforscht. Der Helmkasuar wird aufgrund seiner kräftigen Beine und der dolchartigen inneren Kralle, die bis zu 12 cm lang werden kann, oft als gefährlichster Vogel der Welt bezeichnet.
