How to Tell Them Apart

Der Basstölpel ist ein spektakulärer Sturzflugtaucher, der seine zwei Meter breiten Flügel pfeilförmig anlegt und mit bis zu 100 km/h auf das Wasser trifft. Die Schnee-Eule ist die schwerste Eule Nordamerikas und einer der charismatischsten Vögel der Arktis. Anders als die meisten Eulen ist sie größtenteils tagaktiv – bedingt durch das durchgehende Tageslicht der arktischen Sommer. Periodische Masseneinflüge der Schnee-Eule nach Süden hängen mit den Populationszyklen der Lemminge zusammen.
