How to Tell Them Apart
Blauer Pfau
Males (peacocks) have iridescent blue-green plumage and an enormous train of elongated upper tail coverts with eye-spots. Females (peahens) are brown and cryptically patterned.

Der Blaue Pfau ist der Nationalvogel Indiens und einer der spektakulärsten Vögel der Welt. Inhabits arid mixed-grass and shinnery oak prairies in the southern Great Plains of the United States. Feeds on plant matter and invertebrates. Vulnerable; severe population declines due to oil and gas development, overgrazing, drought, and loss of native shrub prairie.
