How to Tell Them Apart
Blauer Pfau
Males (peacocks) have iridescent blue-green plumage and an enormous train of elongated upper tail coverts with eye-spots. Females (peahens) are brown and cryptically patterned.

Der Blaue Pfau ist der Nationalvogel Indiens und einer der spektakulärsten Vögel der Welt. Die Schnee-Eule ist die schwerste Eule Nordamerikas und einer der charismatischsten Vögel der Arktis. Anders als die meisten Eulen ist sie größtenteils tagaktiv – bedingt durch das durchgehende Tageslicht der arktischen Sommer. Periodische Masseneinflüge der Schnee-Eule nach Süden hängen mit den Populationszyklen der Lemminge zusammen.
