Zaunkönig
Der Zaunkönig ist einer der kleinsten Vögel Europas, besitzt jedoch einen für seine Größe erstaunlich lauten Gesang. In der britischen Folklore gilt der Zaunkönig als König der Vögel, weil er den Adler in einem Flugwettbewerb überlistete.
Mandschurenstorch
Der Mandschurenstorch ist eine der am stärksten gefährdeten Storchenarten; in freier Wildbahn leben noch weniger als 3.000 Individuen. Einst war er in ganz Ostasien weit verbreitet, ging jedoch durch die Trockenlegung von Feuchtgebieten und den Einsatz von Pestiziden dramatisch zurück. Wiederansiedlungsprogramme in Japan und Korea konnten bemerkenswerte Erfolge erzielen.
