Die Hirtenmaina wurde von der IUCN zu einer der 100 schlimmsten invasiven Arten der Welt erklärt. Schnee-Eule
Die Schnee-Eule ist die schwerste Eule Nordamerikas und einer der charismatischsten Vögel der Arktis. Anders als die meisten Eulen ist sie größtenteils tagaktiv – bedingt durch das durchgehende Tageslicht der arktischen Sommer. Periodische Masseneinflüge der Schnee-Eule nach Süden hängen mit den Populationszyklen der Lemminge zusammen.
