Der Wellensittich ist nach Hunden und Katzen das drittbeliebteste Haustier der Welt und mit Abstand der am häufigsten gehaltene Ziervogel. Wildlebende Wellensittiche ziehen in riesigen, nomadischen Schwärmen umher, die den Himmel verdunkeln können. Der Helmkasuar wird aufgrund seiner kräftigen Beine und der dolchartigen inneren Kralle, die bis zu 12 cm lang werden kann, oft als gefährlichster Vogel der Welt bezeichnet.
