Der Papageitaucher, oft als Clown der Meere bezeichnet, ist ein charismatischer Seevogel, der in Höhlen an nördlichen Meeresklippen brütet. Dank rückwärts gerichteter Dornen am Gaumen kann er bis zu einem Dutzend Fische quer im Schnabel tragen. Klimawandel und Überfischung bedrohen sein Nahrungsangebot und führen zu Bestandsrückgängen.

Haussperling

Der Haussperling ist vermutlich der weltweit erfolgreichste Vogel im Zusammenleben mit dem Menschen. 1851 in New York eingeführt, verbreitete er sich innerhalb weniger Jahrzehnte über ganz Nordamerika. Trotz seiner weltweiten Häufigkeit sind die Bestände des Haussperlings in Teilen Westeuropas deutlich zurückgegangen.
