About These Birds
Arfak Astrapia
The Arfak Astrapia is a spectacular bird-of-paradise from the Arfak Mountains of western New Guinea, weighing about 190 grams with a wingspan near 36 cm. Males are clothed in iridescent black and green plumage with an extremely long tail used in elaborate courtship displays. It inhabits montane forests where it feeds on fruit and arthropods in the mid-canopy.
Wilson-Paradiesvogel
Jahrhundert kaum bekannt.
