Der Annakolibri ist der häufigste Kolibri entlang der Pazifikküste und eine von nur drei Kolibriarten, die ganzjährig in den USA verweilen. Männchen zeigen spektakuläre Sturzflüge aus 40 Metern Höhe und fangen sich mit einem lauten, von den Schwanzfedern erzeugten Zwitschern ab. A small hummingbird (8-9 cm) found in Andean cloud forests from Venezuela to Bolivia at 1,000-2,500 m. Green plumage with a wedge-shaped bill. Nectarivore of forest canopy and edges. The name refers to its laterally compressed, wedge-like bill tip.
