About These Birds

Die Wanderdrossel gilt in weiten Teilen Nordamerikas als Vorbote des Frühlings. Trotz ihres englischen Namens ist sie eine echte Drossel und mit dem europäischen Rotkehlchen nicht verwandt. Wanderdrosseln ziehen zwei bis drei Bruten pro Jahr auf und gehören zu den ersten Vögeln, die im morgendlichen Vogelchor singen.
Felsentaube
Die Felsentaube ist die Stammform aller Haustaubenrassen und einer der häufigsten Vögel in Städten weltweit. Tauben dienten dem Menschen als Boten, Nahrungsquelle und Forschungsobjekt – ihre Orientierungsfähigkeit und ihr Sehvermögen wurden ausgiebig erforscht.
