The Agami Heron is a near-threatened, strikingly patterned wading bird with a wingspan of about 55 cm and a weight of around 528 g. It inhabits shaded forest streams and swampy areas in Central and South America, where it stands motionless before striking with its exceptionally long, sharp bill.

Von Schrenck's Bittern (Ixobrychus eurhythmus) is a small, secretive heron of the family Ardeidae, named in honor of the German naturalist Leopold von Schrenck who explored the Amur region of the Russian Far East in the nineteenth century.
