Medium-large pigeon, 30–34 cm, grey with distinctive white spots on the wings and a pink-washed breast. Inhabits open and semi-open habitats, woodland edges, and farmland from Bolivia and central Brazil to Uruguay and Argentina. Granivore of seeds and agricultural grains. Common and adaptable.
