The rock pigeon is the ancestor of all domestic pigeon breeds and one of the most abundant birds in cities worldwide. Ring-necked Dove

Extremely common across sub-Saharan Africa from Ethiopia to South Africa, in open woodland, savanna, and farmland. Granivore of seeds and grain. Familiar garden bird throughout its range and one of Africa's most abundant doves. Least Concern.
