The Bar-bellied Woodpecker is a medium-sized woodpecker of the family Picidae found in montane forests on the Andean slopes from Colombia to Bolivia. Weighing about 43.3g with a wingspan of 19.6cm, it has barred black-and-white underparts and a red crown in males. It forages on tree trunks and branches for insects and larvae.
African Piculet
The African Piculet is a remarkably small woodpecker with a wingspan of under 10 cm and a weight of only about 9 g. Found in West and Central African forests, it probes bark and small branches for insects with its short bill.
