Rock Pigeon
The rock pigeon is the ancestor of all domestic pigeon breeds and one of the most abundant birds in cities worldwide. Socorro Dove
Medium dove, 29–33 cm, similar to Mourning Dove but larger with more rufous coloration. Endemic to Socorro Island, Revillagigedo Archipelago, Mexico. Extinct in the Wild since approximately 1972 following feral sheep and cat introductions; captive breeding programme underway with ongoing reintroduction efforts. Extinct in the Wild.
