A critically endangered Phasianidae pheasant (~1.09 kg) believed extinct in the wild in central Vietnam; surviving only in captivity. Males are white-crested with blue wattles and dark plumage. Originally inhabited lowland evergreen forest. Feeds on seeds, fruits, and invertebrates. Conservation breeding programs active.
