The Black-fronted Brushfinch is a compact, sparrow-like bird with olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, and a bold black forehead and facial mask. It is endemic to the Andes of Colombia and Ecuador, inhabiting dense montane scrub, bamboo thickets, and forest edges at mid to high elevations.
