How to Tell Them Apart
Wattled Brushturkey
Plumage is dark blackish-brown overall with slight gloss; bare facial skin red with pendulous yellowish wattles at sides of neck. Underparts slightly paler brown; no wing markings.

Uniformly dark greyish-brown, slightly paler below; bare yellowish-red facial skin and small brownish crest; legs robust and yellowish. One of the larger scrubfowl; no strong colour contrasts.

Vulnerable due to small island range, deforestation, and sustained egg collection pressure.
