A medium-sized turaco (40-42 cm) found in coastal and riverine forests of East Africa from Somalia to Tanzania. Green and violet plumage with a red-tipped crest and crimson wing patches. Frugivore. Named after the German explorer Gustav Fischer. Classified as Near Threatened.
