Định Nghĩa
The global standard for assessing species extinction risk, maintained by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Giải Thích Chi Tiết
The IUCN Red List assesses over 165,000 species across all kingdoms, including all known bird species (approximately 11,000). It uses nine categories from Extinct to Least Concern, with quantitative thresholds for population decline, range size, and extinction probability. Updated biennially, it is the primary tool informing the Convention on Biological Diversity, national Red Lists, and international funding mechanisms. The database includes population size estimates, distribution maps, and threat analysis for every listed species.
