About These Birds
Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross
Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross, 71–81 cm, wingspan 180–200 cm, breeds on sub-Antarctic islands of the southern Indian Ocean including Amsterdam and St. Paul. Whiter head than Atlantic Yellow-nosed; similar yellow bill stripe. Endangered; affected by longline fishing across the Indian Ocean.
Campbell Albatross
Campbell Albatross, 88 cm, wingspan 220 cm, breeds only on Campbell Island south of New Zealand. Very similar to Black-browed Albatross; distinguished by a pale yellow iris (Black-browed has dark iris). Pelagic across the South Pacific. Near Threatened; affected by longline bycatch.
