Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus) is the smallest New World grebe at 21–27 cm. Dark grey overall in breeding plumage with yellow eye, blackish cap, and short bill. Inhabits small freshwater ponds, ditches, and marshes from the southern USA through Central and South America to northern Argentina. Feeds on small fish and aquatic invertebrates.

Tricolored Grebe

Tricolored Grebe (Tachybaptus tricolor) is a small 22–25 cm grebe of the Moluccas and western Pacific islands. Named for its tri-toned appearance: dark brown above, chestnut sides, white underparts. Inhabits freshwater lakes, ponds, and slow rivers. Restricted to islands including Sulawesi, the Moluccas, the Solomons, and New Britain.
