Burchell's Sandgrouse (Pterocles burchelli) — 24–27 cm. Pale pinkish-buff with white spots on upperparts; male with chestnut belly. Endemic to the Kalahari and arid southern Africa in open Acacia and Terminalia woodland. Granivore; highly mobile; drinks at sunrise.
