Shining Imperial-pigeon (Ducula chalconota), 38 cm. Richly iridescent bronze-green upperparts with a contrasting pale grey head and underparts. Found in montane forest of New Guinea from 700 to 2,200 m. Frugivore. Least Concern; common in hill and montane forest.

Slender migratory dove, 26–29 cm, with rich orange-brown scalloped upperparts, black-and-white neck patch, pink breast, and white belly. Breeds across Europe and western Asia; winters in sub-Saharan Africa. Granivore of weed seeds in farmland and hedgerows. Experiencing severe population decline due to changes in agricultural practices. Vulnerable.
