Tepui Tinamou
Dark brown upperparts with blackish vermiculations and barring. Crown and nape rufous-brown. Throat whitish; breast rufous. Flanks barred brown. Endemic to tepui highlands; sexes similar.

Intricately patterned; upperparts grayish-brown with black streaks and whitish shaft streaks. Bold pale supercilium. Breast spotted and streaked on pale buff. Belly whitish. Striking Andean species.
About These Birds
Tepui Tinamou
A small little-known tinamou with dark brown plumage confined to the tepui highlands of southern Venezuela. Known from very few specimens. Terrestrial and secretive; its call is rarely heard. Forages in dense submontane and montane forest undergrowth.
