Tibetan Sandplover
Tibetan Sandplover: 17–19 cm, compact high-altitude plover with a rufous-orange breast-band, black forehead patch, and short bill. Breeds on rocky alpine tundra and high plateaus of the Tibetan highlands and Himalayan ranges; winters on coastal mudflats and sandy beaches of South and Southeast Asia. Migratory. Insectivorous and invertebrate feeder.

Common resident from Colombia south to Patagonia in open grassland, farmland, and urban parks. Insectivorous. Highly vocal and territorial. Expanding its range northward.
