The Amethyst Sunbird is a small African nectarivore with a 13 cm wingspan, named for the male's striking iridescent amethyst-purple throat. It inhabits woodland edges and gardens across sub-Saharan Africa. Females are brownish with streaked underparts.

Black-bellied Sunbird

The Black-bellied Sunbird is a slender nectar-feeding bird of East African dry savanna and bush, with the male displaying a brilliant metallic green crown and breast band offset by a velvety black belly. It ranges from Somalia and Ethiopia south to Tanzania, frequenting arid scrub and open woodland. It feeds on nectar from flowering plants and supplements its diet with small insects.
