The Black-crested Titmouse is a small, crested songbird closely related to the Tufted Titmouse, found in Texas and northeastern Mexico, with a distinctive black crest, white face, rusty flanks, and grey upperparts. It inhabits mixed woodland, scrubby mesquite, and riparian forests in the Edwards Plateau, Rio Grande Plains, and adjacent areas. It feeds on insects, seeds, berries, and acorns.
