The Baird's Trogon is a Near Threatened trogon found in humid lowland forests of Costa Rica and western Panama, weighing about 94.35g with a wingspan of 29.5cm. Males display brilliant red underparts and iridescent green upperparts, characteristic of the trogon family. It nests in cavities and feeds on fruit and insects in the forest interior.
