Black-necked Araçari

The Black-necked Araçari is a medium-sized toucan with a dark black-and-chestnut plumage, a distinctive dark neck band, and a striped yellow-red bill. It inhabits humid lowland forests of the Guiana Shield and northern Amazonia, including Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and northern Brazil. It feeds primarily on fruits and berries in the forest canopy, supplemented by insects and small vertebrates.
