The Agami Heron is a near-threatened, strikingly patterned wading bird with a wingspan of about 55 cm and a weight of around 528 g. It inhabits shaded forest streams and swampy areas in Central and South America, where it stands motionless before striking with its exceptionally long, sharp bill.
