Madagascar Jacana: 24–28 cm, Madagascar endemic similar to African Jacana but with a distinctive white hindneck and slightly paler blue frontal shield. Inhabits freshwater lakes and ponds with floating vegetation. Sedentary endemic. Polyandrous breeding system. Feeds on invertebrates and seeds. NT due to wetland drainage and hunting.

Inhabits freshwater ponds, lakes, and slow-moving rivers with floating vegetation across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Polyandrous with male incubation. Invertebrate feeder.
