It inhabits the undergrowth and mid-story of dense evergreen montane forests. Its restricted range in the mountains of the Indochina region and ongoing habitat degradation contribute to its near-threatened status.

The Arrow-marked Babbler is a social African bird found in savanna woodlands and thornbush across sub-Saharan Africa. Weighing around 74g with a wingspan near 20.5cm, it travels in noisy groups and is identified by white arrow-shaped streaks on its brown plumage. It feeds on insects, fruit, and small vertebrates.
