The Banded Wren is a small wren of the family Troglodytidae found in dry forest and dense scrub from Mexico to Costa Rica. Weighing about 18.2g with a wingspan of 12.8cm, it has boldly barred flanks and white-streaked upperparts. It forages actively near the ground for insects in tangled undergrowth.
