The Black-backed Tanager is a vulnerable, attractive tanager found in the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil, particularly in coastal forest remnants. Males have a silvery-blue body with a jet-black back and bright rufous head. It is threatened by the severe fragmentation of the Atlantic Forest biome.
